In the last issue about hotels in Rome, for Condé Nast Traveler our boutique hotel Condominio Monti is one of best hotels in the Eternal City.
Living in a Condominio
The word condominio in Italian refers to joint ownership, a grouping of people with varying lifestyles and habits who choose to share certain spaces with each other. The condominio becomes a place of exchange, a place where different lives and points of view come together, and even clash at times.
This is what inspired the concept of our CONDOMINIO MONTI, an apartment building of the early 1900s, transformed into a brand-new boutique hotel in the heart of the Monti neighbourhood in Rome.
Best hotel in Rome for Condé Nast Traveller
The prestigious Condé Nast Traveler magazine last August 2021 included our 3 stars Boutique Hotel Condomio Monti among the 38 best hotels in Rome.
Condominio Monti is made up of two buildings in Monti, one of Rome’s most central neighborhoods. The exterior is unassuming—there’s even a faded old hotel sign hanging from the building windows—but walk through air-conditioned entrance and things start to get interesting. Local Roman design firm, Studio Tamat, overhauled the two buildings a few years back, keeping the layout of a traditional Roman guesthouse, with all of the rooms arranged along a corridor. They’ve also livened up the lobby with soft green and gold wall paints, marble tables and soft armchairs. There are cute design touches, like the shelf of hand drawn postcards and maps of the local neighborhood.
